Dr. Johnny Taylor has more than 30 years of experience in his field and a genuine passion for helping his patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. He attended Sam Houston State University and the University of Texas, Dental Branch, in San Antonio. A devout Texas Longhorns fan, he lives in a house divided with wife and Practice Manager Lisa cheering one of Texas’ long-standing rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners. Dr. Taylor is a member of the Pankey Study Club and a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and he continues his education year round in order to further hone his skills and to stay abreast of the latest technology in the industry.
Dr. Taylor is married to his hardworking wife, Lisa, who takes care of the office and their family. Together, they share four children and three beautiful grandchildren, Kendall, Destry, and Rowen – with more to come, hopefully! Dr. Taylor’s interests outside of dentistry include his loving family, church, competitive shooting (3 gun), USPSA, IDPA, hunting, and skiing. He is also an NRA certified handgun instructor.
Our Dental Team
With more than 27 years of experience in dentistry, Lisa is our valued practice manager and our compliance officer for HIPAA/HB 300 and OSHA. She attended the University of Kansas but is a diehard Oklahoma Sooner, and she loves keeping up with advancements in her field. She and the love of her life, Dr. Johnny Taylor, have been together for over 25 years, and they share a large and loving family. Their son, Brandon, is a fireman and paramedic with the Arlington Fire Department. He is married to Courtney, the newest member of the family, and she is a wonderful mother to a sweet little boy, Rowen. Their daughter, Nikki, married another fireman, Ryan, and they have a beautiful and very active son, Destry. Their other daughter, Denae, and her wonderful husband, Micah, live outside of Dallas and will be expanding their family soon. Their other son, Josh, lives outside of San Antonio. Lisa loves spending time with family, especially her growing number of precious grandchildren.
With more than 17 years of experience in her field, Amber is an invaluable asset to our practice. As a registered dental assistant, she helps care for our patients in a way that makes them feel comfortable, safe, and happy with their experience at every visit. Following her graduation from Hempstead High School, Amber attended Houston Dental Assisting School and earned advanced certification in radiology and the administration of nitrous oxide. She loves working with Dr. Taylor and says that she respects his fair, honest, and conservative treatment of our patients. Amber and her husband, Frank, have two sons, Trent and Tracer. In her free time, she enjoys reading, fishing, watching movies, and watching lacrosse.
An interesting fact about Amber: Her favorite thing about her job in dentistry is changing a patient’s negative outlook on dental treatment into a wonderful experience.
Melodie hails from Buffalo, Texas and attended Lone Star College following her graduation from Fairfield High School. She then continued her education at Houston Dental Assisting School, where she learned the advanced techniques that allow her to serve our patients so well. Melodie has also earned her nitrous oxide and radiology certifications. She says that the best thing about her job is working with our patients and making them feel comfortable in the dental chair. Melodie is married and has two adorable boxers.
Debbie brings 34 years of experience to our practice, as well as memberships in a variety of professional organizations. Her affiliations include the American Dental Hygienists Association and the Greater Houston Dental Hygienists Society, and she has earned her Diolaser certification. Debbie says that the best thing about her job is taking on new challenges every day and interacting with our patients. Her husband, John, is a retired USMC officer and currently works for the Department of Justice. They have three children: two boys who are Aggie graduates and one future Aggie, Erin, who is a freshman at JVHS, as well as three dogs.
An interesting fact about Debbie: She is an adult volunteer at the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, a proud swim mom, and a children’s church ministry teacher.
